Hi-
I have a 12 pound poodle mix. Rescued a little over a year ago. His poop is gross. Usually goes 1-2 times/day. 1st of the day is somewhat formed, but quite soft and smushy. Usually a bit challenging to pick up. Any subseuent poops of the day are almost always liquid diarrhea, and he appears to strain when trying to go.
In the past year we have experimented with different dog foods in an effort to "solidify" his poop. Nothing has helped. Have tried various grocery store brands and a couple of vet recommended products. Most recently was California Naturals and now currently (for the past 3 weeks) on EVO grain free turkey chicken formula. Things were somewhat better on the California Naturals.
He is healthy and happy otherwise, and doesn't seem to bothered by his poop. Only me and my husband are grossed out by it. He has been checked by the vet and nothing health wise is wrong. She has only suggested possible grain allergy.
Any other ideas out there?
